RE-MIX
One of the cutest...yet least imaginative rappers of all time has got to be Warren G. See, to me, rap is an art form because of its mix of rhythm and creative word play. Warren G always makes me feel like he's having a coversation to a beat...in broken English. That, TO ME, is not rapping.
Really, Frances can rap better than that.
And I've sort of found that rap music and blogging have a lot in common. Both can be done by just about anyone, but it takes a person with talent and imagination to do it well. I used to think I was one of those people. One of those who has the finesse to be a "blogger", but my last few entries were...well, let's just say they left a lot to be desired. So I sort of made up my mind to just give it up. (Something that Warren G should consider.)
But every time I try to walk away, I find myself in the car, listening to the radio and I hear something that would make a good topic for an entry so I shuffle around in the glove compartment or back seat looking for a pen, about to cause an accident, just so that I can scribble on the back of a gas station receipt my idea...because GOD FORBID I forget it. Or, I find myself in real life conversation quoting something I read in blog as if it were the NY times.
The bottom line is that I like blogging. And I like bloggers. But I feel like I had been using it as an arena for airing my dirty laundry and constant life DRAMA. And that is an abuse of the art...much like Tevin Campbell's sad and almost frigthening attempt at rapping back in 1990.
I shiver.
So from now on I vow, ladies and gentleman, to not use this force for evil again. I will not abuse this art like the Tevin Campbell's and Warren G's of the world have done to rap. I promise to add to the value of this venue of expression and now litter it with the garbage of unimaginative writing. This is my pledge.
So that's it. I look forward to moving forward in a more positive, fun and creative vain and welcome your company on this journey.
11/10/70 that was my intro,
But now in '94, I'm rolling a 6.4.
But things look shady when the grass is greener,
Rolling up sets and hoods like you never seen a
Young mack daddy do his thing cause I act right.
I got 44 ways to make you act right.
Really, Frances can rap better than that.

One day I'll make it to the big city.
And I'll be looking for a girl who's pretty.
One day I'll make a play.
And she wiil say okay.
'Cause I plan to be a cool kiddie.
I shiver.

And as my 1-year bloggiversary draws near, I feel a revamp is in order to bring about a more positive public perception. (Yeah...I guess I do care what you guys think...go figure.) I have chosen to shut down shop here at BlogSpot and start up a new site at the following location:
So that's it. I look forward to moving forward in a more positive, fun and creative vain and welcome your company on this journey.
